ROLE SUMMARY

The Enterprise Platforms & Security (EP&S) team delivers the following capabilities for Pfizer. Business application platforms supporting Pfizer’s enterprise application and critical business processes.  Infrastructure allowing business traffic to travel where it needs to go, internally and externally, along with the appropriate access controls.  EP&S secures Pfizer’s most important information assets through world class controls and protections and enables Pfizer’s business results by making security an enabler and not a roadblock to achieving business results.

The Service Management function owns and operates platforms that help EP&S and its customers build, deploy, and run leading-edge services on-premises and in the cloud. Service Management platforms support best practices related to the delivery of IT operations and site reliability engineering (SRE) that help customers create and maintain scalable and highly reliable systems, gather data and insights, and manage change, risks, and costs. The service areas included are: Service Management Tools, Environment Monitoring Tools, Service Data Analytics, and Insights.

We’re looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, artificial intelligence, natural language processing and UI design.  As a Software Engineer  for Monitoring Platforms, you will be responsible for solutions that monitor physical, on-premise, and cloud-based network and compute infrastructure globally.  With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. You will partner with engineers, product managers and operations to gather requirements and implement solutions to evolve the current device-based approach of monitoring, to a more data-driven and business-process centric perspective with real-time, business process-focused service health data.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support monitoring solutions product lifecycle from inception through to execution, development, and release.
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and design visualizations to support analysis requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across disciplines such as product owners, creation centers, engineering, and operations to deliver next generation monitoring solutions
  • Development, support issues, process issues, bug fixes and delivery of enhancements using an agile approach.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 2 to 4 years of software development and support experience
  • Experience supporting and developing applications in a wide range of environments (e.g., client, server, cloud, etc.).
  • Programming or software development/engineering experience using any structured or object-oriented language such as Java, Perl, Python, JavaScript.
