Description/ Rationale/ Motivation
Linux is thriving, with RedHat being at the forefront of the linux revolution. This sounds reasonable since Open source is no longer a question, it’s a go-to from the datacenter to the cloud. Open source has revolutionized the software industry and it continues to be the driving force behind much of the technology innovation happening today. Definitely, this growing shift to an open approach in both IT and business explains the constantly increasing demand for RedHat and other secondary linux distributions.
RedHat open source solutions are designed to provide customers with high-performing, scalable, flexible, reliable, secure and stable technologies that meet the infrastructure needs of enterprises. These offerings include RedHat Enterprise Linux, JBoss Middleware, Enterprise Virtualization and Storage Server. Hence, RedHat provides a fully open technology stack that in addition can be adapted to the admin/user needs, without needing to lock into the vendor’s vision of the software or stack components. This justifies the fact that for the second year in a row, Fortune has named RedHat to its list of the Most Admired Companies. Fortune surveys top executives and directors from eligible companies, along with financial analysts, to identify the companies that enjoy the strongest reputations within their industries and across industries and Redhat listed alongside prestigious companies, many of which are customers and partners. Indeed, RedHat serves more than 90 percent of the largest companies, including internet service providers, airlines, healthcare companies and commercial banks.
To seriously support this wide range of application domains, RedHat offers numerous professional certifications based on its software products. RedHat certification program aims at system administrators, engineers, architects, enterprise developers and application administrators, as well as cloud and virtualization administrators, who use RHEL in their IT infrastructures.
